Whiskas Chicken Entree for a 9 month old cat/kitten?
I am out of the wellness chicken canned food that I have been giving my cat. I have some fancy feast chicken food and then a pouch of Whiskas Chicken Entree. It's a pouch. I bought these before I learned about wellness which was about two weeks ago. Since it's too late in the evening to go buy more wellness, I gave my cat a pouch of the Whiskas. I never have fed her this before. She ate about half the pouch and left the rest to sit in her bowl. She licked a lot of the moisture and ate half the chicken. What is left looks like it has some moisture in it. Should I throw the rest away? Is it safe to leave it out in case she gets hungry later? Tomorrow I am going to go buy more wellness wet and maybe a small bag of the dry too so she has something to snack on during the day when I am at work. I am wondering if the Whiskas is bad for her. I usually feed her in the early morning some wet and then leave dry out for her during the day and feed her wet again at night. Also, I am wondering if she is still a kitten? She is 9 months old. My vet said she can be on adult food now. I had her on Kit N Kaboodle and then I learned it was very low quality. I am in the process of getting her switched to wellness. I still give her that dry but it's because I am taking my time getting her transitioned to wellness. It's only been one week since I started giving her dry wellness and the wet. I am out of the sample dry that the vet gave me. My husband says she is no longer a kitten because she had her menstrual cycle back in october and we got her spayed a week or so after that. I thought kittens were kittens until one year of age. Thanks for your help! It's appreciated!

Why do the vet techs say they don't like Hill's - that is what the vet's push!?
I have always wondered why they "push" the Hill's Science Diet because I've read a lot on nutrition and their food does not seem to be very nutritional. Some vets (one I just left) think dogs and cats are omnivores and will eat anything and they will if we feed it to them. I found a wonderful Alternative Vet but she is 29 miles one way from my home and so doing the math that's 58 miles a trip and my dog get car sick so she gave him some herbs for that. Last trip we made it without vomiting - yeah. I love her but with 7 dogs cannot really afford to cook for 7. We just switched from Wellness to Merrick Granny's Pot Pie kibble. Hope it is okay for them. My other dog that got sick had high ph and a mysterious gastroenteritis which the vet (I just left) thought was pancreatitis. She kept talking down to me asking me questions like did they eat something they shouldn't have? I am a professional pet sitter and have 7 dogs and 6 cats and I certainly know what to look for. She's been to my house and knows my surroundings. They could not get into anything without me knowing. Idiopathic gastroenteritis??? Not sure how. Wellness chicken food has not looked right the last two bags and so I am switching. All my other dogs are okay. One I cook for and the other 6 all ate the Wellness food - w Paul Neuman canned - flax - fish oil - yogurt & MSM. Any comments back are appreciated.

Chicken swollen chest?
THIS QUESTION MIGHT BE LONG, BUT IT IS SIMPLE AND I AM TRYING TO GIVE YOU AS MUCH DETAIL AS POSSIBLE I have a 1 year old chicken who looks like an adult chicken, but still needs to grow in size. I have 12 chickens in all. Every morning and before it gets dark, I give my chickens food. They all come really fast and some even jump on my hand to attain the packet of rice. But today, I noticed that one chicken was missing. It was raining heavily. I decided to check under the tree. She was there, hiding from the rain. I then shook the rice packet. Usually, all chicken approach when they hear this sound, but this one showed no reaction. Then, I decided to fetch her, and as I grabbed her, she let out this loud squeal. I was worried, I thought that she was hurt or something. She looked less active than usual. I decided to examine her belly. I touched its crop (chest) and felt this swollen, soft ( I would say filled with air) crop. I then put some rice in front of her but she did not eat it. I decided to put her on the table which was outside. I came back after 15 minutes, and she was still there, at the same position with all the rice in front of her. I touched her crop once more. She did not seem to be in pain when I examined her crop. I tried pushing the air up, but it would just flow beteen my fingers and crop. I will take her to the vet if it needs to be. But I have school tomorrow, and I will not return home before 3pm... (ALSO, she nearly got attacked by a cat today, when I made noise, she realized a cat was behind a banana tee, got shocked and jumped high up, do you think she swallowed air because she was going to eat something?) Do you know what it's all about? is it serious? Is it an infection or does it just happen and it will get better tomorrow? Thanks for your help I forgot to say that it's night already and that she has gone up the tree to sleep. . . So, when I woke up this morning (1 day after) I found that the chicken was normal, ate normal and her crop was no more swollen. . . I returned from school at 3pm and she was still normal. . . I will check on her later....

Thank you and if you have any advice for me please tell.
