In comparison to Indian or Thai food, middle eastern food is not usually spicy, but it is very flavorful. If they want to make the food a bit spicier, they add harissa (a hot chile sauce predominantly used in Morocco, Tunia, Algeria...) but I have seen it used all over the Middle East in addition to other types of regional hot/chili sauces.

But in general, their cuisines are not at all spicy but they are tasty!
